Velvet leaves and violet flashes
Blazing blue windows ignite me from so long ago
Where sunlight bleeds the ground to ashes
There are warm, faded scents of sweet cherry and wood in the smoke
It opens itself to my hands and my needs and it eats up the seeds
that were born from the worst of the weeds it has ever known
It devours them down as I cover the ground with a prayer I’m shown

The sun comes out and when I turn around everything is growing and it gets more loud
everywhere just like a trumpet sounds - and as I grab a cloud it throws me up and down
and up into the air... ta da da da da da... air... ta da da da da da
And then birds come out and meet me in the sky - and as their colors shine
they show me how to fly - And below we see the garden rise and as I float above
I start to realize... That the seeds have all been metamorphosized

An afternoon of deep, dark shadows
The water that flooded the yard all vermilion and mean
It bit the bridge and chewed and swallowed
And I still find the fragments of wood in the dirt when I dream

The hands that get dirty are the hands that are warm
Thank God for the dirt where it all gets turned around
There I keep an eye on the eye of the still and the storm
I buried my ghosts in the garden and I waited for the ground
to give birth to my blossoms and my crown
as He takes all things and He turns them all around
