lyrics

Here is the breath of fresh air I must take in the flash of the flood
of black ink raining down upon the tattered page of my life
where I fight to ignite an unholy mess of mud
that’s been judged where it sits upon the open stage
So take a look and cast your votes - Try not to be too shocked by the storm in my head
Just drop your coin in the secret slot
Then I’ll open up my mouth and the spark that keeps me from joining the dead
will make itself well known in my words and thoughts
How I love the thoughts that follow the sky
They beat the bloody hell out of the awful night
I can no longer carry your bags up the stairs
For I’m too busy bathing in my stars
And whatever the weather be it wild or fair
I’ll be welcomed with bright & open arms
All the storms I have witnessed and the sun I have shared
Make a great silent movie from afar
I can swim in the shadows that it casts through the glare
What a glorious ride here... through the dark
But I’m fine and I’m fair - See the light in my hair
Like a comet high - there I flicker by
With my pen in my hand - and my head for a band
Everything has flown - for the great unknown
And we’re all just fine... floating upon this road
You can no longer carry my bags up the stairs
For we’re too busy bathing in our stars
And whatever the weather be it wild or fair
We’ll be welcomed with brilliant open arms
All the contrasts and hollows that were hardest to bare
Made a great silent movie after all
Now I float in the shadows that the past dares to share
What a glorious ride here... through the dark
Here is the breath of fresh air I must take in the flash of the flood

about

A Rainy Day & The Poetree Santa Fe, New Mexico

Rain's songs are dreamy, hopefully honest, often whimsical poems, set to whatever music has decided to shake her up in the middles of the night. She believes that each song should paint a portrait and set a unique, cinematic scene at that strange point where words meet music. Rain desires to be a player in a revolution that refocuses the worlds lovers of music back onto the song. ... more
